Canada takes on the world in the Overwatch World Cup this weekend

Canada is eyeing up its chance to compete on the world stage in the first Overwatch World Cup, hoping to ultimately vie for the title next week at Blizzcon.

Canada is anchored by Surefour, who was voted as the top player by fans for his team, with others like iid making it in by popular vote. Surefour used his captaincy selections to bring LoganDaBest and HuK along for the ride with him–raising eyebrows–in a team that looks capable of high level play as long as they support their captain.

As part of Pool A, Canada faces Spain, Brazil, and Sweden.

Canada’s first match is against the low-profile (and hopefully low impact) Team Spain. Sweden is the team to watch, though, as their roster includes a nasty lineup of connected players (like Cocco and Chips) and a range of incredible support players. Surviving in Pool A will be no easy feat.
