Pokemon Go experiments with new tracking system

Pokemon Go‘s latest update is rolling out an updated way to track Pokemon to select users according to developers Niantic.

Across the Internet users have been buzzing. It seems the company has released two variations. The first, the “Sightings” tracker, is similar to the old tracking system, but with graphical updates including grass prominently featured behind the Pokemon. This new tracker still does away with the old footprints tracking.

The much more interesting update comes from the “Nearby” tracker, which allows users to tap the Pokemon they wish to hunt down, forcing the app to zoom out and show the Pokemon’s location in relation to nearby Pokestops.

Youtube user Alex Leavitt showcases this in the attached video. You can watch it here.

Also included in the latest patch are fixes to battery saver mode, curveball throws, and a bizarre warning about driving and playing Pokemon Go.
