How does the algorithm work? Google maintains a list of the top websites in the world. The system monitors how many times each site is searched and how many time visitors click on each link from one site to another. The more frequently a link is clicked, the more Google indicates that the site has a strong site. If Google sees a low number of clicks from a site then that means it is not ranking the site high enough.
On the other hand, a high number of clicks means the site has high authority, hence it is the search engine which sees the site as a strong authority, thus it ranks the site higher in the search results. Also, the site must have been indexed so Google knows that it contains all the search terms that exist. Each of these terms are seen as an entry point into the system and, in turn, increase Google’s opinion of the site. So if you have 500 people searching for your blog’s name, then 500 of those people are going to see your article and hence your article will rank higher than if you just had 500 of your own blogs (you know who you are, it’s me).
